I really enjoyed this book, the author has a really nice and lyrical writing style and was not afraid to discuss the tough times on the trail honestly but also showing some of the amazing experiences. Her solid partnership with Jack centred the book (for me) along with her authentic story telling. I hope to read more from this author because I think she has a real talent 🙂

What a story! As real as it gets. I laughed and I cringed for you in equal measure. Thanks for sharing with us all. You should feel VERY proud. 😊

Staying healthy during lockdown life

It has been an interesting last few months as the world has navigated the impacts of Covid-19 and the restrictions in place. The rāhui (lockdown) for me has been a beautiful time of reflection and self enquiry. As I have been working from home I have found time to enjoy some of the things I love the most including going for lots nature walks at our local reserve, Ohinetonga Reserve in Owhango. Its been wonderful seeing the nature and wildlife enjoying this time of quietude. One walk resulted in a sighting of 12 Whio (yes 12!) these are Aotearoa’s native blue duck. For the first time in a year I also spotted some Weiweia (Dab chicks) at the reserves lagoon. These are New Zealand smallest waterfowl and they are amazing to watch as they are excellent divers. But as we emerge into the world of Level 2 I am looking forward to walking more of the trails around us including a much anticipated visit to Ruapehu.

Since completing my yoga teacher training in October 2019 I have been keeping up both my daily practice and teaching by streaming live yoga classes on both Instagram and Facebook. I now have a catalogue of yoga flows to share with you. You can find all my videos here: https://www.facebook.com/makcampbell

I hope you are able to keep some of the wonderful experiences you may have had during this rāhui close to your heart. Enjoy being reunited with the people you love while continuing to keep safe.
